The Flori de Leon is a 76-unit 55+ cooperative apartment community located in the heart of downtown St Petersburg, Florida. The Flori de Leon, affectionately called “The Old Girl” is said to be the first cooperative apartment complex in the state of Florida. The property is part of the National Register of Historic Places in large part for its eye-catching Mediterranean Revival style architecture. New York Yankee legends, Babe Ruth & Lou Gehrig, once rented 2 of the 4 penthouses in the building, which is only one part of the Flori’s rich history.
